What To Do This Weekend In Delhi: March 24-25

An international theatre festival, conversations on gender, bicycle rides, Asian street food, gardening, trekking & more in the capital!

The Theatre Olympics come to India for the very first time

Multiple venues & timings

Touted as the largest international theatre festival, the eight edition will be hosted by the National School of Drama with over 25,000 artistes from 30 countries participating. Look forward to exceptional performances, some of the best plays from across the country and the world, and masterclasses & workshops. More here.

Grow your own microgreens

10AM, Sat, Farm 8

Super easy to grow and packed with nutrients, microgreens are nutrient-packed, flavor-rich mini versions of commonly eaten greens and vegetables like spinach, alfa alfa, mustard, radish and broccoli. Growing them requires minimal space, sunshine, time, and you’ll have your first harvest in just 5-10 days. Get your own kit with a basket, soil mix, seeds and recipes at this workshop.

Party with heart, solo & bright neon colours

5PM, Sat, Ambience Island

A night run followed by an after party curated by Sunburn! Shine in the darkness as you run in neon tees (choose your distance - 3km, 5km and 10km) and dance the night away under UV black lights. To add to the crazyness, there will be neon glow body paint & powder; fitness was never this fun!

Join in conversations on gender equality and empowerment

10AM, Sat, Shangri-La's Eros Hotel

The Bridge is an initiative that aims to question and disrupt discourses that undermine the mission of gender empowerment to create new narratives and address the gap between theory and implementation. Speakers include Guneet Monga, Swara Bhaskar, Shehla Rashid Shora, Rahul Roy, Sujatro Ghosh and more.

Discover Old Delhi on two wheels

6.30AM, Sun, Old Delhi

Cycle through Old Delhi’s narrow lanes past the Lal Quila, Chandni Chowk, Jama Masjid and Fatehpuri Masjid. Pedal back in time, listen to tales from the hidden nooks and corners, and enjoy a delicious breakfast in the old city.

Try some incredible flavours at the Asian Street Food Festival 2018

12PM, Sat & Sun, Diva Spiced

Think Nasi Lemak sold by the roadside hawkers in Bali, noodles from a university canteen in Singapore or freshly caught fish grilled in a floating market in Thailand; the Asian Street Food Festival offers it all, and then some. Prepare you palettes for an onslaught of spice & flavour. The festival is on for a month.

Try your hand at powered paragliding

6AM & 4PM, Sat & Sun, Mojoland

Feel the adrenalin rush with paramotoring, a form of ultra-light aviation powered by a motor attached to your back. It can be launched in still air, and on level ground without any assistance.

Trek through pine-covered forests and snowy trails

Sat & Sun

Start off at Sankri, a remote village around 200 kms from Dehradun, and head up 12000 ft to the top of Kedarkantha. This five-day trek is perfect for beginners as well, and more so if you love snow.

More treks this weekend.
