When in Hampi
Have been wondering lately what is the buzz about this place called Hampi? This long weekend in February Wanderbuff takes you to this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Situated on the banks of Tungabhadra river, stands Hampi within the ruins of the city Vijayanagara. You will find a lot of foreigners around, most of them Israelis. If they understand the value of this place, it is high time we start embracing our own country. Join us in this crazy trip, it is our guarantee that you must not have seen anything like this ever before.
Pick up from Hospet between 6 am to 9 am.
Reach Hospet early in the morning and leave for Hampi to check into the hotel. Unload your luggage at the guest house, rest up and energise till afternoon and have some authentic Israeli food for lunch. After lunch we leave for Sanapur lake. Taking a dip in this lake is a must, your trip is incomplete without it. Sit back for the nature’s show called ‘Sunset’. Coming back to the guest house have dinner and retire for the night.
After breakfast leave for Kishkinda Waterpark, this waterpark gets its water from the Sanapur Reservoir, so enjoy your day in the natural chlorine free water. Have lunch at the resort and then leave for the sunset point at Anjaneya Hill trek (45 mins), believed to be the birth place of Hanuman. Enjoy the sunset- the best time of the day, on this hill. Sunset here is celebrated as an event where people gather, play some soothing music and observe the magical sunset. Later, move to the guest house, have dinner and end this beautiful day.
Leave early morning to Tungabhadra River for the elephant shower. After the elephant shower, we leave to visit the famous temples and monuments of Hampi. This will take the entire day where we will visit a lot of monuments like Laxmi Narsimha Temple, Hazara Ram Temple, Vijaya Vittala Temple, Virupaksha Temple, Lotus Mahal and many more. Before the sunsets, we trek to Matanga Hills(30mins) and witness the magical sunset from there. After sightseeing, we board bus to Mumbai. Overnight Journey.
